This is a picture of me touching the sea at Odessa – the start of the cycle. My ‘rules’ are to cycle across a country from border to border, so I usually try to touch the borders at the start and finish. I started cycling on 13 September 2023, northwards from Odessa towards the border with Belarus and the Chornobyl exclusion zone, where (after various detours and side events), I finished on 21 September. This was mostly in aid of Siobhans Trust – https://siobhanstrust.uk/what-we-do raising funds for this incredible charity: https://www.justgiving.com/page/paula-reid-siobhanstrust.

We also managed to raise the profile of both the charity and the continued plight of the Ukrainians via mainstream and social media, deliver some meds from Kent to Odessa and film local mental health stories to aid their psychological wellbeing going forward. This was all while Ukraine is at war battling for it’s freedom.

All this was achieved thanks to several sponsors and individuals, in particular a support van was kindly provided by Wildbox Adventure Vehicles Ltd.

Please donate, or offer to volunteer for this fabulous charity. Thank you.
